Setting A Company Subdomain
A company subdomain is an area of the YourCompliance server that is used by only your company. We assign each account its own subdomain to ensure your data is private and also to allow for personalisation. The configurable subdomain is the string of text that comes before ‘yourcompliance.com’ and is visible in 2 key areas of our platform:
1) The URL of your owner / upload portal.
2) Any emails being sent using our server (note you can add a custom mailbox to send from your own email server but we always need a fallback in case there are issues with your custom mailbox so you can only configure custom mailboxes AFTER choosing a subdomain – all this is covered in the Message Sending section of the support portal).
You can define the company subdomain via the dashboard and various features will not work until this is set up so we recommend reviewing this as your very first step.
You can only have a single subdomain per company and as it is used in a URL it cannot include spaces so choose wisely. Typically we recommend using your company name, so if your company was called My Vacations, your subdomain will be something like:
myvacations.yourcompliance.com
or
my-vacations.yourcompliance.com
You cannot (easily) change your subdomain after setting it and you will need to contact our support team (or your dedicated account manager) if you need to make a change.
